Stonehenge

We had our first visit to Stonehenge on Saturday. I say first because i'd love to go back sometime, early morning or at dusk. Too many other folks there, it felt quite touristy which of course it is.

It's a lot smaller than you expect, though not being able to actually walk through it as one used to probably takes away from it's awe. I'd love to have been able to touch rocks that are 5000 years old. (Ok, the rocks existed a lot longer than 5000 years ago, but even still...) The rocks came from Wales, before there was 4WD so no wonder it took 1000 years to build...

The Tower Of London

Last week Bethie and I took a tour through the Tower Of London. It's one of the oldest buildings in London and was the site of a few dozen executions. The Beefeaters and other staff actually live in quarters on site, a stone's throw from where Royalty once lived themselves.

Happy New Year!

Counting down to 2008!

Getting ready to bring in the new year with a bottle of bubbly.

Cheers!

And Happy New Year :)

Oxford

Beth and i got up to Oxford on Sunday, around 100 miles north of London. The coach ride was fine, the surrounds look fantastic for a drive, hope we can do it sometime.

Oxford is a very old city, many old buildings still exist from the 1300's and prior. I think we'll need another visit to take more in.

Bethie looking up the Great Britain Lonely Planet to plan our next venture!

A walk in the fog

The past two days, London has been pretty much under fog. Maybe 50m visibility, maybe less. Bethie and i took a short walk in our favourite park this afternoon, so i took a few photos.

Park

Took a walk today.

What's a walk in the park without a beer on the way home? To be sure, to be sure.
